  American Professional Chimney & Masonry Service, Inc. was originally founded in 1979 as a partnership and acquired  Chapter C  corporate Status in 1989. We have an impeccable record with the Better Business Bureau, The department of Consumer Affairs and the Home Improvement Commission.

 The owner, David Myers, has lived in the DC area since 1959 and has been repairing chimneys since 1973.  He is the DC areas most experienced chimney technician and still climbs atop the areas tallest chimneys. (165′ tall, recently) Catherine Wilson manages the business offices with 2 assistants, Marlo and Maria while Dave, the “Chimney Guru,” is the technical resource for 20 field employees while assissting homeowners with issues that other companies may not have been able to diagnose or that require a unique repair procedure.

We are frequently called 301Chimney because of our corresponding phone number and  still known to many as “The Artful Dusters,” a name and tradition of quality we are proud to keep alive. “The Artful Dusters,”  another local chimney service was also founded in the  mid ’70s by a husband and wife team who were reputed to be the DC Area’s  Best  Chimney Sweeps. They are currently teaching grade school in one room school house at the base of the Swiss Alps. We are proud to be the ones to keep their earlier aspirations alive.
